No investment brings greater long-term benefit to a nation than investment in education, for it is an educated and skilled workforce that forms the foundation of sustainable progress and prosperity. Education must remain our foremost national priority—an aspiration that both governments and communities should collectively pursue. The phenomenal transformation of countries such as South Korea, Singapore, Vietnam, Taiwan, Malaysia, and China stands as compelling evidence that true development begins with a strong commitment to education. Unfortunately, during the early decades following independence, our nation lacked the same focused resolve toward strengthening education, particularly higher and technical education. The Pak-China Technical & Vocational Institute (PCT&VI), established in September 2021 with the generous support of the Government of China and operational since 2023, is a remarkable outcome of cooperation under a memorandum of understanding among the Gwadar Port Authority (GPA), University of Gwadar, China Overseas Port Holding Company (COPHC), and the Shandong Institute of Commerce & Technology (SICT), China. As a technical and vocational institute, PCT&VI provides high-quality technical and vocational training aimed at producing a highly skilled workforce to meet the needs of the Gwadar Port Authority, the industries of the Free Zone, the New Gwadar International Airport, as well as sectors such as construction, services, tourism, hospitality, and other CPEC-related ventures.

As we strive to empower the youth of Pakistan with the skills and knowledge required to excel in the global economy, it is with great pleasure that I acknowledge the pivotal role of the Pak China Technical and Vocational Institute (PCT&VI), an esteemed institute of the University of Gwadar. This institution has been at the forefront of fostering technical education and vocational training, aligning perfectly with the vision of our great nation to harness the potential of our youth. The University of Gwadar, through its institutes like PCTVI, is committed to providing high-quality education and training that meets international standards. By focusing on technical and vocational skills, we are not only enhancing the employability of our graduates but also contributing to the socio-economic development of the region. The China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) has brought unprecedented opportunities for growth and development in Gwadar and beyond. Our institute is well-positioned to play a significant role in this development by providing the skilled workforce required for various projects and initiatives under CPEC like Gwadar port and Gwadar Economic zones etc. At PCT&VI Gwadar, we are dedicated to creating a learning environment that is both innovative and inclusive. Our faculty, comprising experienced professionals and industry experts, is devoted to imparting knowledge and skills that are relevant to the needs of the industry.
